Tribulus – An Easy Way to Boost your Libido

Tribulus has always been used in traditional medicine as a stimulant for both men and women and as a substance that can increase the power of the body, vitality and stamina. Plants and drugs that affect the sexual power, especially in men, are guaranteed fame and immortality. Take Viagra for example. This drug has become more sociological, psychological and media phenomenon than pharmacological and scientific phenomenon. Before Viagra hit the market, whole series of drugs and other substances were tested in order to maintain a hard erection and fertility of men – from some bizarre ingredients such as rhino horn, dry penises obtained from hyenas and sea horses to the illegal plants with strong opiate-like properties. Some people have even tried some pseudo-magical rituals so it is no surprise that modern medicine and pharmacy looked at these plants that affect sexual power with a high level of suspicion. It was really difficult for some plants to be presented as really helpful plants in the field of sex. One of these plants was Tribulus, it enhance the libido.

Tribulus (Tribulus Terrestris) also known as bullhead, devil’s thorn and tackweed, is actually a weed, which is very common in the Mediterranean, but today this weed can be found almost everywhere in the world. The fruit of this plant is very distinctive and it looks like prickly pigeon’s egg and those who have vivid imagination can imagine this fruit as a little prickly testicle. After centuries of experience and modern clinical trials, several healing plants were classified in a separate class in which Tribulus belongs too.

Yohimbe (Pausinystalia johimbe) is considered to be the oldest “Viagra” which was once discreetly issued by pharmacists. They were selling extracts of this herb. This extract can be found even today in drugs related to erectile dysfunction problems because it acts quickly, unlike most other plants. Besides tribulus, another plant that has a cult status and which affects the erectile dysfunction is the so-called maca (Lepidium meyenii). The Chinese species Epimedium grandflorium is another similar plant. Epimedium is also known as horny goat weed which is a term that is self-explanatory. It didn’t take much before scientists connected the effects of this weed to the increased sexual desire in goats. There are few other extracts and parts of plants which are usually used in modern sex pill dedicated to stop erectile dysfunction and infertility. The most popular ones are the so-called adaptogenic herbs – the well known true ginseng and Siberian ginseng, which generally act as stimulants for the entire body and they reduce the feeling of fatigue which is one of the main reasons for problems in modern relationships and sexual life.

Tribestan is an herbal product which contains dry extract of Tribulus terrestris L. Bulgaricum. The active ingredients of Tribulus contain saponins with a dominant amount of protodioscin. Numerous pharmacological, pharmacokinetic and clinical studies have confirmed the effectiveness of protodioscin, while also confirming that this herbal sexual enhancer has a safe pharmacological profile without known side effects, so it is no surprise why these pills are so popular around the globe.

Using Sex Pills for a Better Erection

We all know that pills like Viagra can help male erection. But only a small number of people know that the efficiency of Viagra is based on nitric oxide.

Erectile dysfunctions very often occur due to poor blood circulation. The hardness of the penis depends on the amount of blood in the penis. Viagra has proven to be effective when it comes to increasing blood flow and this sex pill and few other similar pills have helped many men return their pride. But, how exactly did the scientists achieve this increased blood flow? This is possible thanks to the nitric oxide. This compound allows the smooth muscles in the walls of vessels to relax; thereby vessels dilate which eventually leads to better blood flow (vasodilation). This is a group of chemical bonding, including enzymes, whose number is limited. That’s why a greater amount of nitric oxide doesn’t help. The body simultaneously activates the second enzyme and the reverse process begins. Viagra contains substances that stop the body form preventing the effects of nitric oxide and thus keeps the muscles relaxed. In few simple words, nitric oxide activates the processes which relax the muscles.

Therefore, the body responds and activates other smaller processes which slowly affect the first ones. When these processes are stopped, muscles are tense again and the blood flow is reduced. This is the moment when Viagra starts encouraging the third group of processes that protects the first group from the second. Although this may sound a little bit complicate the effects of Viagra are excellent. Viagra is really efficient and has a long-term effect. There are also few other compounds which increase the presence of nitric oxide. L-arginine is one of them.

L-arginine is an amino acid which is produced by the body. It works in many parts of the body and it completes a number of tasks. For example, it helps the body to get rid of nitrogen, participates in the production of creatine, L-proline, L-glutamate etc. The body can turn l-arginine in glucose or glycogen if needed. In larger quantities, l-arginine stimulates the production of growth hormone and prolactin. In this case we are especially interested to the function of l-arginine in the process of formation of nitric oxide which has beneficial effects on the hardness of the penis. L-arginine positively affects the formation of NO which means that it also positively affects the blood flow and erection although it has to be taken on a daily basis. It is good to point out that better blood follow is useful not only for men but for women too. Increased blood flow in the vaginal area increases the possibility of reaching orgasm. That’s why l-arginine is used in treatments of female sexual dysfunction too.

As we have mentioned before l-arginine is produced by our own bodies in sufficient quantities. We can also consume l-arginine through consummation of dairy products, pork, beef, seafood, nuts, chocolate, seeds etc. You can also use l-arginine in a form of a supplement but only in cases of infections and similar problems which weaken the immune system.

Finally, it is good to mention that many people don’t actually need Viagra or similar products to get a harder erection – they need to lose weight, stop smoking or find some other psychological encouragement.
